🥄 Ingredients

  • 1 lb phyllo dough, thawed
  • 2 cups walnuts, finely chopped
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1 cup butter, melted
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup water
  • 1/2 cup honey
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice

    Mix walnuts and cinnamon.

    Brush 9x13 pan with butter. Layer 8 phyllo sheets, brushing each.

    Spread 1/3 nuts. Add 4 more sheets with butter.

    Repeat nut and phyllo layers, ending with 8 sheets on top.

    Cut into diamonds or squares before baking.

    Bake at 350°F for 40-45 minutes until golden.

    Simmer sugar, water, honey, vanilla until dissolved.

    Add lemon juice. Pour hot syrup over hot baklava.
