- 1 cup whole milk
- 5 tbsp all-purpose flour
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- Pinch of salt

Whisk milk and flour in saucepan over medium heat.

Cook until very thick, stirring constantly.

Transfer to bowl, press plastic wrap on surface, and cool completely.

Beat butter and sugar until very light and fluffy (5+ minutes).

Add cooled flour paste bit by bit, beating constantly.

Add vanilla and salt. Beat until fluffy like whipped cream.
